Order Samples.Established in 1971, South Hurstville RSL, known as The Pinnacle, plays a pivotal role in connecting its local community. In July 2024, the Club reopened its doors after undergoing an expansion and renovation to offer bigger, better facilities to its members. Throughout the venue, our acoustic wood Panels system blends functionality with aesthetics to deliver a modern look while enhancing customer comfort.
Strategic acoustic zoning
Delivering up to 1.0 NRC, the Panels system’s high acoustic performance reduces reverberation and increases speech intelligibility. Through the clever placement of Panels on walls and ceilings, Axil Architects controlled the Club’s acoustics, dialling up the excitement in entertainment spaces and enabling easy conversations in others.
Our acoustic Panels are prefinished, preassembled modules engineered for performance and ease of installation. We crafted the Rectangular 4018 series chosen for this project in Australia, using moisture-resistant fibreboard (MR MDF) battens from environmentally certified Australian mills.
To combine natural warmth with durability, Axil Architects chose the NAVURBAN Diamond™ Box Wood finish. This technologically advanced finish features a reinforced top layer that endures The Pinnacle’s demanding hospitality environment. The surface’s non-PVC Olefin film is 3D-embossed with a textural woodgrain structure, providing a beautiful natural aesthetic throughout the Club.

In a recent interview with the St George and Sutherland Shire Leader, The Club’s CEO Simon Mikkelsen commented, “From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a fresh and modern look that truly elevates the overall experience for our members and guests … From the revamped reception area to the newly renovated lounge and sports bar, every aspect of the Club has been thoughtfully designed to enhance the overall experience for our patrons.”
