IMAX® Sydney is a premier cinematic destination located in Darling Harbour. Known for its iconic presence and unparalleled movie-watching experience, the venue is at the forefront of cinematic innovation. From the moment cinemagoers step onto the escalator, they’re immersed in a thrilling ambience. Throughout their journey, Modulo® tongue and groove panelling sets the scene for IMAX® Sydney’s cutting-edge technology and world-class entertainment.
An immersive cinematic ambience
Spanning 692 square metres, IMAX® Sydney boasts one of the world’s largest screens for an unrivalled entertainment experience. The venue’s six-storey-high theatre space provides the perfect canvas for riveting interior design.
Versatile Group selected Screenwood’s Modulo® tongue and groove lining system for dramatic feature walls and pillars. The system’s Arc fibreboard profile with a 170mm curve radius enabled the architect to push boundaries with sculptural interiors throughout the soaring escalator journey, upper landing, and bar.
Diamond strength for durability
IMAX® Sydney’s Modulo® timber wall battens are finished in NAVURBAN Diamond™ Black Mountain, an innovative decorative surface that uses Smart NANO™ technology. The reinforced top layer ensures the Modulo® tongue and groove wall panels retain their premium finish in this high-traffic environment. The surface’s non-PVC Olefin film is 3D-embossed with a textural woodgrain structure for a natural aesthetic while being scratch, abrasion, stain and water resistant for durability.
